Our Recruitment Process

How to join us

We are continuously looking for colleagues to join us in powering the solution as we aim to create a more sustainable future. We strive to make the hiring process a positive and professional experience for everyone, regardless of the outcome. To prepare you in the best possible way and to provide you with all the necessary information, we have outlined the different steps in our recruitment process below.

Please note that the process outlined below is a general one. Variations may occur depending on the type of position.

With the many different roles offered at Vestas, you are likely to find an opening that matches your skills and interests. You can browse through our job openings and find your ideal match via the link below.

Did you not find what you were looking for? Upload your CV and receive notifications on new job openings by signing up to our Talent Universe.

Once you have found the right match for you, you need to prepare your CV and cover letter based on the job ad in question.

Your CV and cover letter are submitted to our recruitment system online by clicking “Apply now” in the job ad. All our job openings can be found here. Once you have applied, you will receive a confirmation email through the email address you have provided.

If you do not receive the confirmation email within a few minutes after your registration, please check your spam folder. If the confirmation email has been delivered to your spam folder please mark it ‘Not spam’, which should allow any future messages to be sent directly to your inbox.

After the application deadline, the recruitment team shortlists candidates who might be invited to complete a video assessment interview via HireVue On Demand. This tool allows us to screen our candidates consistently and reduce hiring bias. The team may also choose to conduct screening interviews by phone. If so, this will be performed by the recruiter or the sourcer. If we find your profile suitable for the role, we will invite you to participate in an interview, either physically or online.

We provide all our candidates with the outcome of their application as soon as possible. If you are not among the shortlisted candidates, we will let you know.

If you are invited for an interview, it means that we are impressed with your profile and consider you a potential match for the position.

Your experience of the interview is important to us. Therefore, to ensure that you are provided with all the information you need, the interview always includes an introduction to Vestas as well as thorough insights to the potential role and department you are interviewing for. The interview is also intended to allow us to get to know each other, both in terms of professional skills and personal traits.

The interview will most likely be with the hiring manager and the recruiter and will be focused on the match between the position and your profile. The interview stage should result in valuable insights both for us and yourself. We aim for it to be a transparent and comfortable conversation between the involved parties.

As soon as we have decided on a candidate to hire, the remaining candidates will be notified.

Congratulations on your new job! We are very happy to have you on board.

Once you have been offered a job, the onboarding process is initialised. We intend to give you the best possible beginning to your new journey and make you feel welcome from day one.

You will receive an email with a link to the onboarding system in which you can find relevant materials about Vestas, and your new manager will create an Onboarding Plan to make sure everything is ready when you join. On your first day and throughout your first few months at Vestas, we have several activities lined up for you to become acquainted with your colleagues, our company, and the Vestas culture. You will also be assigned a buddy to support you during the first phases of your employment.

Recruitment fraud
It has come to our attention that there are a number of fraudulent emails from people pretending to work for Vestas. These fraudulent activities include invitations to attend interviews and job offers and will usually involve a request for the transfer of money.
Please be aware that all candidates applying for a job in Vestas are required to go through a formal recruitment process prior to receiving a job offer and Vestas does not (nor do any of the organisations that recruit on our behalf) ever ask for money or payments from our applicants at any stage in the recruitment process.
We strongly recommend that you do not disclose your personal or bank details to anyone you do not know. If you do receive such communications, we would advise you to contact your local police station and provide them with the details of the senders. We would also request that you report these type of communications to us through PCServices@vestas.com.

Frequently asked questions

Technically, you do not have to upload a cover letter when applying, but it is considered a clear advantage to do so. By submitting a cover letter in addition to your CV, you get a chance to elaborate on yourself, your strengths, and your competencies in relation to the position, allowing the recruiter to learn much more about you.

The characteristics of a good cover letter and CV depend on many factors such as the requirements of the role and the country in which you are applying for a position.

However, the most important thing to keep in mind when drafting the application material, is that your CV and cover letter should reflect the job ad, both in terms of experience, responsibilities, competencies, and the language in which it is written.

A few general tips:

  • Make sure your cover letter and CV complement each other. The cover letter should not be a summary of the CV but should explain more thoroughly how you fit the role.

  • Show it, don’t tell it. Do not just list your competencies and experience but use real-life examples to show how those traits have manifested themselves in a specific situation.

  • In your cover letter and CV, only include the information relevant for the position to which you are applying. This allows for simple, short, and concise application material.

  • Make sure your CV is well-structured, with informative headings. The recruiter should be able to easily find the necessary information.

  • Remember to thoroughly proofread both your CV and cover letter to create a professional and complete image of yourself.

You can always apply to a position. Even if you have less or different experience than specified in the job ad, you may have other qualities or skills relevant for the role. Passion can also get you a long way, so we encourage you to apply if you find a position interesting.

We do not accept unsolicited applications. However, you can always submit your CV to our Talent Universe in which our recruiters can view your profile in relation to specific opportunities. Here you can also receive notifications about new job postings that match your requirements.

You can see the status of your application by logging into your profile here and clicking “Jobs Applied”.

If needed, you can edit and withdraw your application by logging into your profile here and clicking “Jobs Applied”.

Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to provide feedback to all candidates who apply for a position. However, we always provide verbal feedback to candidates who attend an interview.

It is always a good idea to arrive properly prepared for an interview to ensure you present yourself in a professional manner. A few measures can get you a long way. Below, we have collected a few general suggestions to prepare yourself.

  • Acquaint yourself properly with the company and the role you are interviewing for. Once you have applied, remember to save the job ad for reference at a later stage, as it may be removed from our website once relevant candidates have been identified.

  • Think of real-life examples to show your competencies instead of only stating them.

  • Make thorough considerations as to why you want the job as well as your strengths and weaknesses.

  • Prepare a few questions to ask the interviewer to show your interest in the role and the company.

Due to regulations, we are not allowed to receive applications and CVs via email. To ensure that your personal data is handled correctly, you must submit your CV and cover letter online through our recruitment system.
